Mrs. Beatrice Rose (Summa) Collea, 95, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare.

Beatrice was born in Utica, on July 19, 1922, a daughter of the late James G. and Edith Grace (Forlini) Summa. She was educated in St. Agnes Schools and a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School. As a young woman, Beatrice worked as a sales clerk in area stores and later, Joseph and Feiss Co., for many years. On May 8, 1943, Beatrice was joined in marriage to John Anthony Collea. Bea and John shared over sixty-three loving together, until his passing on June 19, 2006.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her two beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Roseanne and Thomas McCabe, of Utica and Edith and Neil Benjamin of Niskayuna; five grandchildren, David Esford, John Esford, Laura McCabe, Neil Benjamin, Jr., and Scott Benjamin; one brother, Jim Summa; and many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Jane Niedzialek and her infant brother, Robert Summa.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday at 12:30 p.m. from The Matt Funeral Home and at 1 p.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica.
