Miss Marie Angela Tantillo, 87, passed away peacefully in the Monroe Unit of the Masonic Care Community on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

Marie was born in Utica on October 11, 1930, a daughter of the late Philip and Domenica “Mamie” Tantillo. She was educated in local schools and a 1948 graduate of TR Proctor High School. Marie’s career began at Rome Air Base for RCA Electronics, she went on to a position in the accounting department at Oneida National Bank on Genesee Street, and retired several years ago.

A woman of deep religious faith, Marie was very dedicated to her parish of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church and was always very active at the Mt. Carmel Feast.

Marie was committed to her family and devoted her life to the care of her parents, siblings, nine nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and great nephews. She especially looked forward to her visits from Jackson and Ella. She always enjoyed baking special treats for everyone, and she will be very sadly missed.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and James Carrone, of Rochester; brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Carroll Anne Tantillo, of L.I.; two sisters-in-law Antoinette Tantillo, of Utica and Margaret Gould, of L.I.; and also her beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and two brothers, Joseph and Salvatore “Sam” Tantillo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated by her cousin Rev. Joseph Salerno on Saturday at 12 Noon at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

The family would like to offer their sincerest gratitude to the staff of the Monroe Unit of the Masonic Care Community for the loving and compassionate care shown to Marie and her family during her stay there.
