Michael S. Kupiec Sr. 1950-2018 Frankfort, NY: Michael S. Kupiec Sr., 68, passed away in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, January 3, 2019.

Mike was born in Utica on November 4, 1950, a son of the late Stanley L. Sr. and Genevieve (Miazga) Kupiec. He was raised and educated in New York Mills, where he attended St. Marys Catholic School. It was on May 17, 1980, that Mike was united in marriage to the former Marion Balio. Mike and Marion shared nearly thirty years of love and commitment to each other, until her passing on November 13, 2009. Mike was fortunate to find love a second time and on July 23, 2017, he was joined in marriage to the former Marlene Wilson Julian.

A lifelong auto body repairman, Mike worked for various companies over the years, including, C & C Auto Body, Hoff Toyota, and Tobin Chrysler Plymouth; and he always enjoyed doing side jobs at home. Mike was an avid golfer, and had many enjoyable times playing with his group The League of Nations at Turning Stone, Crestwood, Valley View, Hidden Valley and Twin Ponds.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene; his son, Michael Jr. and his fianc Kimberly Gorzynski; a brother, Stanley Kupiec Jr. and his special friend, Jennie Puleo; a sister-in-law, Christine Kupiec; mother-in-law, Martha Amodio; sisters-in-law, Lisa Wilson and Annmarie Lohr; special friends, Kevin and Bruce Lojewski and Donald Koons; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins in the Balio and Kupiec families. He was predeceased by a brother, Brian D. Kupiec.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart and St. Marys Church in New York Mills. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica.

Condolences to the Kupiec family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.
