Mr. Frank F. Bruzzese,73, passed away after a long illness at home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, May 7, 2017.

Frank was born in Utica on August 26, 1943, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Alam) Bruzzese. His dad died in action in WWII and he was raised by his mom and stepfather Frank “Hank” Gulla. He was educated in Whitesboro, a graduate of Whitesboro High School, and a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp. Frank was an entrepreneur and involved in may local restaurants including the Alpine East, Grimaldi’s, and the Diplomat. He was best known for running the family business Beacon Body Shop, along with his brother Phil, for many years.

Frank was a loving family man and his life revolved around them. He had a unique sense of humor and entertained everyone, when he entered a room, with his quick wit and mischievous smile. Frank loved spending the summers at Alex Bay, and some of his happiest moments in life were spent with his daughters, granddaughters, and family at the St. Lawrence River.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Debra and Ray “RayRay” Jadhon, of New Hartford, Dominique Bruzzese, of NYC, and Francesca Bruzzese, of Boston; beloved grandchildren, Samantha and Stephanie Jadhon; his sister, Michelle Gulla, with whom he resided, and her boyfriend, Michael Peterson Sr.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Philip and Mary Ann Gulla, and Frank “Rick” Gulla; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins, with special mention of his cousins and best friends, Brian Alam and Albert Yaghy. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Bruzzese.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. There are no calling hours.

The family would like to offer their deepest thanks to his sister, Michelle and her boyfriend, Michael Peterson Sr., and family friend, Michele Boulanger, for the loving care shown to Frank during his illness.

My deepest condolences to all, on the loss of your father/brother and family member. He had a great life and even in the last few years he seemed to smile a lot. Unfortunately I'll not be able to make it to Utica for the service, but I'll keep you all in my prayers and thoughts. May he RIP.
