Thomas Bonilla, 48, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 19, 2017.

Thomas was born in Bronx, NY, on August 18, 1968, one of twelve children born to Ramon and Maria (Febles) Bonilla. He attended school in the Bronx, where he graduated from high school and later from Missionary Bible College. Thomas was a spiritual person, who enjoyed teaching children about God.

Thomas was the second youngest of 12. If you had the chance to know him, you would know that his family was the most important people in his life. He spoke very highly of everyone. Through his ups and downs, Thomas always kept his faith very strongly in God. He always had a smile on his face, and knew that everything would be ok; he had the heart of a child.

Thomas is survived by his beloved mother and stepfather, Maria and Gregorio Perez, of Utica NY; five brothers and their spouses, Fernando and Ramona Bonilla, Ramon and Valerie Bonilla, Nelson Bonilla, Johnny and Dolores Bonilla and Manuel Bonilla; five sisters and their spouses, Nellie Perez, Martha and Roberto Martinez, Daisy and Rodolfo Rivera, Mirta and Hugh Haddock, and Rosa and John Perez; and also many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Ramon Bonilla. The family would like to acknowledge Sandra Kaelin, for her friendship and support towards Thomas.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from The Matt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Historic Old St. Johns Church with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica.

Thomas, we love you and you will never be forgotten...... You will always be in our hearts.
