Mrs. Adele Santina Palazza, 85, a longtime NY Mills resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare after a long illness.

Adele was born in Utica, May 24, 1932, daughter of the late Vincent “James” and Marianne (DiRusso) Durso. She was educated in local schools and a 1950 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On September 2, 1961, Adele was joined in marriage to Vincent F. Palazza. They shared forty-nine loving years together until his passing on September 12, 2010.

Mrs. Palazza was a book keeper employed at Joseph Giruzzi and Sons Plumbing in Utica for many years, until her retirement. Adele found great pleasure when painting.

She is survived by her sister, Carmella Dragotto, of Clinton; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Marion Rienzo and Antoinette Raab; and three brothers, Donald, Dominick, and Samuel Durso Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. from The Matt Funeral Home and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., in Utica.

Tha family would like to thank the staff of the Presbyterian Home Residential Community for their care and compassion during Adele’s residence there.
