Mrs. Constance Faye “Connie” (Wildrick) George, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Connie was born in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania, on July 7, 1935, a daughter of William and Florence (Halstead) Wildrick. When she was nine years old, the family moved to the Utica and Frankfort area, where she was educated in local schools and a graduate of TR Proctor High School. Connie worked in the retail industry in Utica for many years and eventually retired from the UFCW.

On November 9, 1957, Connie was joined in marriage to Joseph K. George. They shared fifty-eight years together, raised their two children, and gave love and support to their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe and Connie always remained extremely close to all members of their family and always looked forward to Sunday dinners. They both had a great outlook on life, and were always seen smiling at family and social events. Her beloved Joe passed away on May 15, 2016.

Connie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Tricia George; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Sal Nicolette; sister, Joan Gilbert; adored grandchildren, who will miss their “Nonnie”, Corinne and David Doolen, Brook and David Summa, Samantha and Ryan Zeigler, Louis and Razan Sbarra, and Salvatore Nicolette Jr.; great grandchildren, Craig “CJ’ Lebert, Georgiana Summa, David Summa, Alexis Doolen, Dakota Doolen, and Madison and Luca Sbarra; and also nieces and nephews, Jeff Gilbert and Cindy Lis.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica.

The family would like to offer their thanks to CAREGIVERS for the compassion and care shown to their mom during her illness.

So sorry to hear of Connie's passing. She and Joe were a great couple. She always shared a smile and hopefully they will be together again.
