Mrs. Corinne J. “Bunny” (Giruzzi) Filletti, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018, at the Sycamore House at Sitrin Healthcare Center.

Corinne was born in Utica, July 24, 1930, a daughter of the late John Sr. and Philomena “Fannie” (Basile) Giruzzi. She was educated in local schools and a graduate of TR Proctor High School. She went on to attend Delhi University and graduated with a Dietician Degree. Following college, Mrs. Filletti worked as a dietician in local hospitals and the Utica School District for several years, and later retired as the Nutrition Director for the Office of the Aging. In 1991, she was elected the first vice president of the New York State Association of Nutrition and Aging services program. On June 2, 1956, Bunny was joined in marriage to Carmen J. Filletti. Bunny and Nooch shared over sixty-one years together.

Bunny was the sweetest person you could ever know; the most loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved to cook, crochet and knit for her family. She loved the many years spent with her family at the camp at White Lake. Bunny’s loveable nature and unique sense of humor will be forever missed.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Carmen “Nooch”; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Gary Mancuso, of Utica; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carmen and Lisa Filletti and Paul and Tammy Filletti, all of Marcy; seven grandchildren, Mia and Josh Risler, Nina and Mark Ranieri, Carmen Jr. and Erin Filletti, Bianca and Greg Bussey, Marissa Filletti, Donte Filletti, and Gianna Filletti; great grandchildren, Grace Corinne and Emma Rose Risler, Olivia Rose, Mark Joseph, Juliana Marie, and Dominick Anthony Ranieri, and Wyatt James Bussey; one sister, Patricia Powers; two sisters-in-law, Carmella Giruzzi and Nancy DeMartino; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her great grandson, Vincenzo Louis Ranieri; two brothers and a sister in law, John Giruzzi Jr. and Franklin “Butch” and Angela Giruzzi; and in-laws, Grace Morgan, John DeMartino, Ron Powers, and Palma and Frank Percia.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. from The Matt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica.

In memory of Bunny, please consider donations to the Mt. Carmel Building fund. Envelopes will be available.
