Joseph "Bob" St. Amant Obituary

Joseph (“Bob”) St. Amant, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by close family, on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the VA hospital in West Haven, Connecticut.

Bob was born in Madawaska, ME, April 27, 1942, a son of the late Patrick and Annette (Pelletier) St. Amand. He was a graduate of St. Dominic’s School in Lewiston, ME. On September 30, 1967, Bob was joined in marriage to Mary Faga in Utica, NY. Mary and Bob enjoyed a loving marriage of over fifty-five years primarily living in Marcy, NY.

Bob was known for his gentle and easy-going nature. He, along with his wife, enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including working on the house and watching TV, as well as, spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed creating small arts and craft projects, even winning a few local awards.

After high school, Bob joined the US Air Force in Rome, NY, where he became a Sargeant. Following his discharge, he worked as a computer technician at Univac and ICL, as well as, in other career ventures later in life.

Bob is survived by his son, Patrick St. Amant and his wife, Davina Franco of Winchester MA; his daughter, Doreen (St. Amant) Baruffaldi and her husband, Peter Baruffaldi of Ellington, CT; grandchildren, Landon and Nolan Shirshac, and Sydney Franco St. Amant; sister-in-law, Jackie Faga; and many nieces and nephews, including Anthony Faga, Mark Faga and Terri Valez, and Charlene Faga. He is survived by his brother, Doran St. Amand; and was predeceased by his sister, Greta Stewicki.

A private service was held at The Matt Funeral Home, Utica NY. Bob will be interred at St. Agnes Cemetery together with his wife, Mary.
